We all had a favorite cartoon program growing up, right? Well, one of mine was one called Captain Planet that used to air on Kenya Television Network (KTN) on Saturday mornings! From what I can remember (hope this is accurate), there were about 4 or 5 children who loved the environment who are able to combine their powers to summon an elemental warrior that takes on the appearance of a superhero Captain Planet. He works with these children (planeteers) to defend the earth from pollution caused by criminals and villains. The theme song was so catchy, what! “Captain Planet, Hes a hero, gonna take pollution down to zero….”
Even though I was young, something in me really resonated with that message: Save our planet from pollution! Reuse, Reduce, Recycle! No wonder the songs Heal the World and Earth Song would make me cry! I had this HUGE passion for the earth, the planet that God created and I wanted to do everything in my power to save it!
Two decades later, married almost 8 years and blessed with three lovely children, I’ve matured and I know that I can’t save the earth like Captain Planet did in the cartoon. No one individual can! No human being at least! One day Jesus Christ will come back and heal this broken world. So what do I do until then? I play my part in making my world ‘clean and green’, both inside and out-body and soul!
That’s the reason for this blog: I believe that our Maker/Creator God would have us enjoy ALL that He has made, to the full, for the health and wellness of our families, to create wealth/grow our income, for our personal joy/delight in a sustainable and responsible way! And know that we can feel and look good as we go about it!!!

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
